Der mit Spannung erwartete Börsengang von Deliveroo ist für Anleger zu einem gewaltigen Flop geworden: Die Aktien des Essenslieferdienstes sind an ihrem ersten Handelstag an der Londoner Börse abgestürzt. Der Kurs brach bereits in der ersten halben Stunde nach Börsenstart um mehr als 30 Prozent gegenüber dem Ausgabepreis ein. Damit fiel er bis auf 271 Pence.
Ausgegeben worden war die Aktie zu 390 Pence – und selbst das war schon am unteren Ende der angepeilten Spanne gewesen. Der Börsenwert des Unternehmens sank damit innerhalb einer halben Stunde von 7,6 Mrd. Pfund auf 5,2 Mrd. Pfund (6,1 Mrd. Euro).
Spanne für Ausgabepreis war bereits gesenkt worden
Schon im Vorfeld war der Börsengang unter keinem guten Stern gestanden. Das Geschäftsmodell des Unternehmens war zunehmend in die Kritik geraten. Fahrer des Unternehmens protestierten gegen die schlechten Arbeitsbedingungen. Mehrere der großen britischen Vermögensverwalter wie Aberdeen Standard Investments oder Aviva gaben daraufhin an, sich nicht an dem IPO beteiligen zu wollen.
Deliveroo hatte in weiterer Folge die angepeilte Spanne von den Initial Public Offering (IPO) gesenkt. Hätten die Aktien ursprünglich noch zu einem Preis zwischen 390 und 460 Pence ausgegeben werden sollen, wurde schließlich eine Spanne von 390 und 410 Pence angepeilt. Die maximal mögliche Bewertung des Unternehmens beim Börsengang reduzierte sich damit von 8,8 Mrd. auf 7,8 Mrd. Pfund.
1,5 Mrd. Pfund an Kapital aufgenommen
Der tatsächliche Ausgabepreis mit 390 Pence dann am unteren Ende der Spanne. Daraus ergab sich eine Bewertung von 7,6 Mrd. Pfund. Beim IPO wurden insgesamt 1,5 Mrd. Pfund von Investoren eingeholt. Gemessen an dem aufgenommen Kapital ist es der größte Börsengang in London seit September.
Die Details: Deliveroo selbst hat 384,6 Mio. Aktien zum Ausgabepreis von 390 Pence verkauft und damit rund 1 Mrd. Pfund eingenommen. Die restlichen Aktien im Wert von rund einer halben Milliarde wurden von Bestandsinvestoren wie Amazon, aber auch Deliveroo-CEO Will Shu verkauft.
Das 2013 gegründete Deliveroo ist nach eigenen Angaben in 800 Städten in 12 Ländern aktiv. Aus Deutschland hat sich das Unternehmen 2019 zurückgezogen, in Österreich ist es ebenfalls nicht aktiv. Das Netzwerk des Unternehmens umfasst 140.000 Restaurants, 111.000 Fahrer liefern Bestellungen aus. Das Unternehmen hat seit Bestehen noch keinen Jahresgewinn erzielt.
