Das Wiener Krypto-Unicorn hat einen Sponsor-Deal mit einem der bekanntesten österreichischen Sportler abgeschlossen: Tennis-Star Dominic Thiem wird Markenbotschafter von Bitpanda.
Bitpanda ist aktuell im Sport-Sponsoring sehr aktiv: Anfang des Jahres schloss das Wiener Krypto-Unicorn eine Partnerschaft mit dem FC Bayern München ab. Erst vor zwei Wochen kam mit dem italienischen Club AC Milan ein weiterer prominenter Fußball-Club dazu. Auch im Tennis ist Bitpanda engagiert: So fungierte man etwa im Juli als Sponsor des Generali Open in Kitzbühel. Und schon im Mai hatte man den Schweizer Tennis-Profi Stanislas Wawrinka als Markenbotschafter präsentiert. Nun kommt ein weiterer Tennis-Star dazu – und zwar einer, der in Österreich noch bekannter sein dürfte: Dominic Thiem.
Der gebürtige Wiener wird Bitpanda als neues Testimonial sowohl in zukünftigen Marketingkampagnen als auch auf verschiedenen Events repräsentieren, wie Bitpanda in einer Aussendung bekannt gab. Thiem ist einer der bekanntesten Sportler Österreichs und zählt zu den erfolgreichsten heimischen Spielern der Tennis-Geschichte. Er drang zwischenzeitlich bis auf Platz drei der Weltrangliste vor und gewann 2020 die US-Open. Dieses Jahr gab er sein Karriereende bekannt.

Abseits des Tennisplatzes ist Thiem auch unternehmerisch aktiv. Er ist beispielsweise am Wiener Schokoriegel-Startup Neoh beteiligt und investiert in Immobilien. Mit “Thiem View” hat er im Vorjahr außerdem eine eigene Marke für Sonnenbrillen auf den Markt gebracht.
