Die Serie an Insolvenzen in der österreichischen Startup-Szene reißt nicht ab. Wie am Mittwochnachmittag bekannt wurde, musste nun das Wiener Mobility-Startup goUrban ein Insolvenzverfahren mit Sanierung unter Eigenverwaltung anmelden. Erst Ende Juni 2022 gab das Unternehmen, das ein Betriebssystem für Shared Mobility entwickelt hat, den Abschluss einer Finanzierungsrunde in Millionenhöhe bekannt und verfolgte damit ambitionierte Pläne: Mit den frischen Finanzmittel sollte das Team verdreifacht und die weitere Marktexpansion forciert werden. Zum Zeitpunkt der letzten Finanzierungsrunde war goUrban laut eigenen Angaben in über 100 Städten vertreten und vernetzte ingesamt 30.000 Fahrzeuge (brutkasten berichtete). Zudem konnte das Startup mit Elevator Ventures, Uniqa Ventures und dem aws Gründerfonds bekannte Investoren an Land ziehen.
goUrban meldet sich mit Statement zu Wort
Trotz der zusätzlichen finanziellen Mittel ging der Expansionkurs von goUrban allerdings nicht auf. In einer Aussendung begründet das Unternehmen die Anmeldung des Insolvenzverfahrens wie folgt: “Der gewünschte Erfolg konnte jedoch aufgrund der aktuellen Marktbedingungen nicht erzielt werden”. Zudem hätten auch Zahlungsschwierigkeiten bei einem der “größten Kunden” von goUrban zur derzeitigen Situation geführt. Um welches Unternehmen es sich konkret handelt, nannte das Wiener Startups allerdings nicht.
Laut dem Alpenländische Kreditorenverband (akv) belaufen sich die Aktiva auf rund 1,24 Millionen Euro und die Passiva auf 4,39 Millionen Euro. Insgesamt sind rund 108 Gläubiger und 28 Dienstnehmer:innen betroffen.
Sanierung unter Eigenverantwortung
Derzeit wird von goUrban eine Sanierung unter Eigenverwaltung angestrebt. In der Aussendung schreibt das Unternehmen zudem, dass auch zu einer “Neuausrichtung des Geschäftsbetriebs” kommen soll. Dazu heißt es: “In Gesprächen mit Großkunden hat sich gezeigt, dass neue nachhaltige und geteilte Mobilitätsformen gerade im Kontext von Emissionsmanagement zur Erreichung von ESG-Zielen immer wichtiger werden”.
“Die geplanten Maßnahmen stärken uns, um Unternehmen bei der Umstellung zu neuen nachhaltigen Mobilitätsformen zu begleiten und bei der Erreichung ihrer ESG-Ziele zu unterstützen. Mit der Neuausrichtung können wir goUrban so auf eine breite Erfolgsbasis stellen”, so Bojan Jukić, CEO von goUrban. Nähere Informationen zur Neuausrichtung liegen jedoch noch nicht vor.
