IHS: Erst 2022 kehrt Österreich zu solidem Wirtschaftswachstum zurück
Das Institut für Höhere Studien (IHS) präsentierte am Donnerstag eine neue Prognose für die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der österreichischen Wirtschaft bis ins Jahr 2024.
Im laufenden Jahr dürfte das Bruttoinlandsprodukt in Österreich laut den Experten des IHS um historisch einmalige 7,25 Prozent zurückgehen. Sollte eine zweite Corona-Welle eintreten, würde der Rückgang sogar bei 9,1 Prozent liegen. Diese Zahlen gehen aus einer am Donnerstag veröffentlichten Prognose des Institut für Höhere Studien (IHS) hervor.
Solides Wirtschaftswachstum erst 2022
Bis das wirtschaftliche Wachstums wieder an das Vorkrisenniveau anpasst, muss sich Österreich allerdings noch gedulden. “Im Verlauf des Jahr 2022 dürfte die Wirtschaftsleistung wieder das Vorkrisenniveau erreichen”, so das IHS in einer Aussendung. Für die gesamte Prognoseperiode 2020 bis 2024 erwartet das Institut eine Zunahme des realen Bruttoinlandsprodukts von durchschnittlich dreiviertel Prozent pro Jahr. Diese Wachstumsraten entsprechen laut dem IHS dem selben Tempo, wie jenen im Euroraum.
Inflation und Arbeitslosigkeit
Zudem äußerte sich das IHS auch bezüglich der Inflationsentwicklung: “Mit der wirtschaftlichen Erholung wird wohl die Inflation etwas anziehen; mit einem Maximalwert von 2,25 Prozent im Jahr 2024 bleibt der Preisdruck aber verhalten.
Neben der Inflation geht das IHS in der mittelfristigen Wirtschaftsprognose auch auf die Entwicklung der Arbeitslosenzahlen ein. Dazu heißt es: “Ausgehend von 10,25 Prozent im laufenden Jahr könnte die Arbeitslosenquote bis zum Ende der Prognoseperiode auf acht Prozent zurückgehen.” Die Arbeitslosigkeit wird sich laut den Experten demnach nur langsam zurückentwickeln.
Das IHS gab auch Empfehlungen für wirtschaftspolitische Maßnahmen ab. Demnach dürfte die Wirtschaftspolitik strukturelle Reform im Bereich des Föderalismus aufgrund der Pandemie nicht vernachlässigen.
