With the GIN batch, you are going to be given the opportunity to tour through the Singapore ecosystem for a week, including a grant covering 80 percent of the costs up to EUR 10,000 (hotel, flights, entry tickets) per startup.

This is what to expect at GO SINGAPORE 2024

PART I – GO SINGAPORE Onboarding

The first part of GO SINGAPORE 2024 provides a variety of flexible trainings to prepare all participants for their expansion journey. Startups will get first-hand insights into the Singapore market and benefit from a flexible digital onboarding to prepare their internationalization strategy.

On top of that, participating startups will receive a three hour free and individual IP coaching session with experts to discuss and prepare an optimized market entry strategy.

Part I furtherly includes a preparation dinner and kick-off event in Vienna – happening in the month of September with exact date and time to be announced. During this preparation dinner, participating startups will receive first market insights and valuable last-minute preparation for their stay in Singapore. Networking and getting to know the GO SINGAPORE startup batch will not come short.

PART II – GO SINGAPORE Physical

After all preparations have been successfully concluded, startups will be ready to dig into a one-week ecosystem experience in Singapore. Participants will be given the opportunity to connect with Asian and international stakeholders and participate in various events such as pitching nights and VC speed dating rounds.

Participating startups will furtherly be given the opportunity to interact with potential investors and corporates at the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), where finance, policy and technology converge. Lunch get-togethers will build bridges between important ecosystem players dn local startups. On top: GIN refunds 80 percent of all program relevant expenses, including travel and accommodation costs.

Taking place from November 6th to 8th, GO SINGAPORE 2024 will attend the ultimate networking event and a global nexus to FinTech experts: The Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF).

As a hub to changemakers in policy, finance and technology, SFF is designed to foster impactful connections and collaborations and serve as a platform to explore the intersections of cutting-edge financial solutions, evolving regulatory landscapes and the latest technological innovations.

Every participating startup will be given the opportunity to gain insights by an esteemed Content Advisory Panel of industry experts, presenting strategic perspectives on market trends, technologies and policy shifts. Dialogues with international experts and impactful leaders will not come short.

The SFF provides insightful sessions such as roundtables, workshops and exhibitions following one major goal: To revolutionize the overarching digital transformation and reshaping global economies.

Requirements: How to apply for GO SINGAPORE 2024

The program GO SINGAPORE 2024 is most suitable for Austrian startups in the mid- or later-stage sector – beyond PoC and seed stage. You should have at least raised a seed-stage investment. Furthermore, you should consider yourself as a FinTech business and should have established your business within the last seven years.

GO SINGAPORE looks for unique products/solutions and innovative startups that are already on the market. Furthermore, your business should be ready and thriving. Proven business models with traction such as clients or revenue are beneficial. Furthermore, your business should be ready and thriving to connect to relevant stakeholders such as corporates and business partners – with a focus to develop further internationally in the Singapore and Asian markets.

Log in on aws Connect or register and create an account. Fill out the outline form and upload your recent pitch-deck.
Online Pitch Event on June 25th, 2024:
The GIN-Team will inform all applicants whether or not they are chosen for the Online Pitch one week before the event via email. All pre-selected startups will receive an email with log-in details on May 25th, 2024 as well as a 10 minute time-slot. Each startup has 4 minutes to pitch in English – no screen or presenting the pitch deck allowed – followed by a Q&A session by the jury of national and international GIN partners.
Final decisions:
After the Online Pitch Event, the jury will select the finalists for GO SINGAPORE 2024. The winners will receive an email with all necessary information for the next steps – latest within a week after the Online Pitch.

Ein Spaziergang durch die Wiener Innenstadt oder den Gürtel genügt: Stuckfassaden, hohe Fenster, verzierte Erker – jene Gründerzeithäuser, wegen derer jährlich Millionen Tourist:innen nach Wien kommen. Fast alle sind heute begehrte Wohnadressen. Dasselbe Bild findet sich auch in vielen anderen europäischen Städten wieder, von Paris bis Berlin.

Doch während die Gebäude nach außen mit ihrer Schönheit glänzen verbirgt sich im Inneren ein Energieeffizienz-Alptraum. Rund 80 Prozent der österreichischen Gebäude stammen aus der Zeit vor der ersten OIB-Wärmeschutzrichtlinie, und liegen großteils in einer der schlechtesten Energieklassen. Die Sanierungsrate lag zuletzt bei 1,2 Prozent, denn aufgrund der Fassadenerhaltung scheitert es meist an der Genehmigung. Genau hier will das Wiener Startup Joyh ansetzen. Mit Sandfassaden aus dem 3D-Drucker will man die Gründerzeithäuser energietechnisch in die Neuzeit holen.

Ideenfindung auf der Dubai Design Week

Die Idee dazu entstand zufällig: 2023 druckten und gestalteten die beiden Gründer:innen eine Sandskulptur für die Dubai Design Week. Tagelang stand sie in praller Sonne im Freien. „Wir haben gemerkt, dass sie sich beim Anfassen gar nicht aufgeheizt hat“, erzählt Mitgründer Oliver Hamedinger.

Der Grund liegt in der Porosität des Materials: „Der beste Wärmedämmstoff ist Luft“, erklärt Hamedinger – und 3D-gedruckter Sand enthält davon mehr als Beton oder Ton. Mit dieser Erkenntnis in der Tasche gründeten Oliver Hamedinger und Jade Bailey 2024 ihr Sanierungsstartup mit einer klaren Haltung: „Die Gebäude von 2050 stehen schon. Wir müssen nur einen neuen Weg finden, sie zu sanieren“, sagt Co-Founderin Bailey.

Ein Bauteil statt vieler Schichten

Joyh setzt hier mit seinem System „Brian“ an: mineralische Bauteile, gedruckt per Binder-Jetting aus Sand – demselben Verfahren, mit dem sonst Formen für den Stahlguss entstehen. Aktuell arbeitet man für den Druck der einzelnen Fassadenteile mit der voestalpine Foundry Group zusammen, die über die nötigen Maschinen verfügt.

Für die Sanierung wird die Fassade zuvor digital gescannt. So entsteht auch ein digitaler Zwilling, der vor allem bei Reparaturen interessant wird. Die einzelnen Fassadenelemente sind laut Hamedinger rund 12 bis 15 Kilogramm schwer“ die Größe, die ein Bauarbeiter allein auf der Baustelle handhaben darf“ und werden ohne Kleber ineinandergesteckt. Das ermöglicht laut Gründerduo nicht, nur eine simple Anbringung sondern auch einen separaten Austausch.

Eine vollständige thermische Sanierung kostet aktuell 600 bis 800 Euro pro Quadratmeter. Das ist zwar mehr als klassisches WDVS (Wärmedämmverbundsystem), eine mehrschichtige Konstruktion an der Außenseite von Gebäuden, die zur effektiven Wärmedämmung dient, für Gründerzeitfassaden, durch die ganzheitlich benötigte Abtragung allerdings ungeeignet. „Ein großer Teil des Wiener Altbestands fällt aus der Sanierungslogik heraus, weil die üblichen Systeme dort nicht infrage kommen. Genau diese Gebäude wollen wir erreichen“, sagt Mitgründerin Jade Bailey.

Software soll skalieren

Die operative Sanierung soll allerdings nicht bei Joyh bleiben. Skalieren will man hingegen über die dazugehörige Plattform „D2P“, die aktuell aus den Gebäudedaten die fertigungsfertige Druckdateien erzeugt. Diese soll langfristig als Abo-Modell an Architekt:innen und Fertigungspartner:innen weltweit lizenziert werden. „Ein Produkt kann man kopieren. Ein System, das mit jedem Projekt dazulernt, nicht“, sagt Hamedinger.

Von Architektur und Technik zum Startup

Hamedinger bringt technisches Know-how mit, unter anderem aus seiner Zeit bei Siemens, Bailey ist ausgebildete Architektin mit Erfahrung in Österreich, Deutschland, Großbritannien und den USA. Finanziert haben die beiden ihr Startup bislang aus mehreren Quellen: Rund 30.000 Euro brachten sie privat ein, dazu kam eine FFG-Patentförderung. Zuletzt sicherte sich das Team 202.000 Euro aws-PreSeed-Deep-Tech-Förderung und gewann das nationale Finale des ClimateLaunchpad Austria.

Bevor ihr System auf reale Fassaden kommt, muss es sich noch durch Brandschutz-, Statik- und Frost-Tau-Prüfungen beweisen, erste Pilotprojekte sind für Anfang 2027 geplant. „Der eigentliche Test kommt erst, wenn wir es auf echte Fassaden bringen“, sagt Bailey. Ab Mitte desselben Jahres will das Gründerduo zusätzlich strategische Investor:innen an Bord holen.
