PART I | GO SHANGHAI ONBOARDING: FLEXIBLE
Get first-hand insights into the chinese market and benefit from a flexible digital onboarding to prepare your internationalization strategy. The selected startups will receive 3h of free and individual IP coaching sessions and exclusive unlimited access to our GIN video masterclasses with valuable expert tips for their market entry. At the kick-off event you will receive first market insights and valuable last-minute preparation tips for your physical presence in Shanghai and Taipei, while getting to know the GO SHANGHAI 2024 startup batch.
PART II | GO SHANGHAI PHYSICAL: EXPANSION TRAVEL
Part II of GO SHANGHAI 2024 is a 1-week ecosystem tour in Shanghai and Taipei from October 7th to 14th* and offers the selected startups 1:1 business meetings organized by AußenwirtschaftsCenter Shanghai, as well as the opportunity to generate international leads (corporates, potential clients, business partners, etc.) at customized pitch and networking events, such as the Austrian Startup Night. Furthermore, startups can benefit from further on-site activities, e.g. Tech G Show (see further information below). For the physical trip to Shanghai & Taipei, GIN covers 80% of the program relevant expenses including flight and accommodation costs up to EUR 10,000.- per startup (with the Gender Bonus even up to 90% of the eligible costs).

INNOVATION MADE IN TAIWAN
With excellent technological infrastructure and a leading position in the semiconductor industry, the island offers ideal conditions for startups. The government supports the growth of young companies with investments, tax incentives, and an improved regulatory environment. Success stories from companies like HTC, Foxconn, and TSMC inspire the new generation of startups. Taiwan sees significant potential, especially in the fields of health technology and sustainable energy.
REQUIREMENTS
The program GO SHANGHAI 2024 is most suitable for startups meeting the following criteria:
- Vertical: DeepTech (e.g. robotics, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, augmented/virtual reality, machine learning, biotechnology, blockchain, aerospace technology, quantum computing etc.)
- Austrian mid- or later-stage startup (beyond PoC and seed stage)
- Established in the last 7 years (no k.o. criterion)
- Raised at least seed-stage investment
- Unique product/solution
- Working prototype/MVP
- A proven business model with traction (clients, revenue)

2. Online Pitch Event | May 23th, 2024
The GIN-Team informs all applicants whether or not they are chosen for the Online Pitch via e-mail. The pre-selected startups will receive an e-mail with all log-in details for the Online Pitch on Mai 23st, 2024 as well as a 10-minute time-slot. Each startup has 3 minutes to pitch in English followed by a short Q&A session by the jury of national an international GIN-partners.
3. Final Decision – Congratulations!
After the Online Pitch the jury will select the GO SHANGHAI 2024 finalists. The selected startups for GO SHANGHAI 2024 will receive an e-mail with the next steps from the GIN-Team latest within a week after the Online Pitch.
