PART I | GO HONG KONG 2022 Hybrid: Sept. 19-23

Part I of the program offers a digital onboarding with flexible video masterclasses, individual IP coaching and 1:1 mentoring, as well as digital insight sessions. Also, all participants have the chance to connect in person at the kick-off event in Vienna on September 19^th, and to receive first market insights from our local partners in Hong Kong.

PART II | GO HONG KONG 2022 Hybrid: Oct. 10-14

Part II of GO HONG KONG 2022 offers the selected startups on-site* activities and events (ReThink Expo) in Hong Kong. Also, you will have 1:1 business meetings organized by AußenwirtschaftsCenter Hongkong and get the chance to connect with international partners (corporates, potential clients, business partners, etc.) at customized pitch and networking opportunities. For the phyiscal trip (if possible) to Hong Kong, GIN covers 90% of all expenses including flight and accommodation costs up to EUR 20,000.- per startup.

*IMPORTANT: This program is planned as a hybrid program with physical acitivities in Vienna, Austria. If travels to Hong Kong are possible without going into quarantine for longer than 1 week, part 2 of the hybrid program can take place on-site. If the travel restrictions remain with an obligatory quarantaine-stay of 7+ days, the program will take place digitally and the physical trip to Hong Kong/GBA can be made at a later point in time.

REQUIREMENTS

The Program Go Hong Kong 2022 is most suitable for startups meeting the following criteria:

Verticals: GreenTech and Sustainability Solutions (PropTech, Transport & Mobility, Energy & Utilities, Hospitality & Tourism, FoodTech, Green Finance)
Austrian mid- or later-stage startup (beyond PoC and seed stage)
Established in the last 7 years (no k.o. criterion)
Raised at least seed-stage investment
Unique product/solution
Working prototype/MVP
A proven business model with traction (clients, revenue)
Interest in connecting to relevant stakeholders (corporates, business partners)
Looking to develop further internationally with a focus on the Greater Bay Area/Asia

Das Wiener Pharmaunternehmen Complex Pharmaceuticals startete Anfang des Jahres den Bau eines neuen Produktions- und Verpackungswerks in Traiskirchen bei Wien. Ab Ende 2026 sollen dort Arzneimittel hergestellt und verpackt werden. Die Investitionskosten belaufen sich auf 21 Millionen Euro – brutkasten berichtete. Nun vermeldete man eine Personalie.

Complex Pharmaceuticals: ERP-Implementierung

Seit Kurzem unterstützt Thomas Pototschnig Complex Pharmaceuticals als Head of Finance. Der 60-jährige Finanzexperte verantwortet künftig sämtliche Finanzagenden und begleitet insbesondere die ERP-Implementierung (Enterprise Resource Planning) des jungen Unternehmens. Für Pototschnig ist die neue Aufgabe zugleich eine Rückkehr zu seinen Wurzeln: Nach vielen internationalen Stationen lebt er wieder in Neusiedl am See, wo er maturierte und sich lange ehrenamtlich engagierte. Mit seiner Erfahrung möchte er Complex Pharmaceuticals effektiv voranbringen.

36 Jahre im Finanzbereich tätig, berufliche Stationen in 16 Ländern auf drei Kontinenten und zahlreiche internationale Führungs- und Transformationsprojekte: Bei Complex Pharmaceuticals begeistert Pototschnig die Chance, ein junges Unternehmen aktiv mit aufzubauen. Seine Karriere führte ihn unter anderem zu Austrian Airlines, Smith & Nephew und Phoenix Arzneiwarengroßhandlung.

„Ein Geschenk“

Bei Smith & Nephew war er in leitenden Finanzfunktionen für Österreich, Polen sowie Zentral- und Osteuropa tätig und begleitete mehrere SAP-Einführungen und internationale Transformationsprojekte. Bei Phoenix leitete er Finanzbuchhaltung und Controlling und verantwortete als Prokurist die Finanzagenden mehrerer Gesellschaften.

„Ein Produktionsunternehmen auf der grünen Wiese mit aufzubauen, ist für mich eine wundervolle Aufgabe. In meiner jetzigen Karrierephase empfinde ich dieses Projekt fast als Geschenk. Die Zusammenarbeit mit den weit jüngeren Kolleg:innen ist inspirierend. Sie halten mich jung, und ich kann im Gegenzug meine Erfahrung weitergeben“, sagt er.
