Das Wiener Startup cogvis konnte sich gegen die internationale Kurzzeitpflege-Mitstreiter durchsetzen und wurde nun als Gewinner der Ausschreibung bekanntgegeben. Damit positioniere sich das Unternehmen laut Ausschreibung als “europäischen Vorreiter im Bereich der Pflegetechnologie”. Nun sollen in lokalen Krankenhäusern der Modellregion Skåne schrittweise mindestens 800 der cogvis-Smartsensoren implementiert werden.
Bis zu 20.000 Euro Kosten pro Sturz
Das System des Startups soll mehr Sicherheit in der Pflege gewährleisten. Die 3D-Sensoren registrieren Bewegungen im Raum und lösen in kritischen Fällen einen Alarm aus, um eine schnelle Reaktion der Pflegekräfte zu ermöglichen. Bis zu 20.000 Euro an medizinischen Kosten kann so ein Sturz verursachen, wie CEO Rainer Planinc bereits im Gespräch mit brutkasten erläuterte – ganz zu schweigen von den körperlichen und psychischen Schäden von Betroffenen und Angehörigen. Um das zu vermeiden, möchte cogvis ansetzen; dadurch sollen in weiterer Folge auch Pflegekräfte entlastet werden.

Wie dringend der Handlungsbedarf in der Pflege ist, wird durch ernüchternde Statistiken ersichtlich: Allein in Österreich sollen laut einer Studie des Bundesministeriums für Soziales, Gesundheit und Pflege bis 2030 an die 100.000 Pflegekräfte fehlen, in Europa werden elf Millionen prognostiziert.
