Die Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) startet neue Förderrunden für KI-Projekte, die sich unter anderem an Startups richten. Ein Förder-Call ist bereits offen.
Insgesamt 22 Millionen Euro hat der Bund über den Fond Zukunft Österreich für die Förderinitiative “AI Mission Austria” bereitgestellt. Ein Teil dieses Etats wird von der Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) im Rahmen mehrere KI-Förderungen vergeben, die sich auch an Startups und KMU richten. Nun wurde eine weitere Förderrunde für “AI-Start: Green”, “AI-Adoption” und “AI-Adoption: Green” bekanntgegeben. Der Call für “AI-Start: Green” läuft bereits und ist bis Ende November offen. Die beiden anderen Calls starten am 2. Jänner 2025. Der Antrag läuft über den aws Fördermanager.

“Die Finanzierung innovativer KI-Projekte stellt für Unternehmen eine Herausforderung dar, auch aufgrund der sich verändernden regulatorischen Vorgaben”, kommentiert aws-Geschäftsführer Bernhard Sagmeister. Das Fördergeld soll Unternehmen nicht nur helfen, Potenziale im KI-Bereich zu heben, sondern auch, sich “optimal auf den EU AI-Act vorzubereiten“.
“AI-Start: Green”: Bis zu 15.000 Euro für KI-Projekte mit Nachhaltigkeits-Fokus
Mit “AI-Start: Green” wird die erstmalige Umsetzung von KI-Projekten, die zur Erreichung von Nachhaltigkeitszielen beitragen, in KMU mit bis zu 15.000 Euro gefördert. “Hierbei wird mit Hilfe eines Kooperations- und Umsetzungspartners ein KI-Projekt geplant, implementiert und zumindest bis zu einem abgeschlossenen Piloten umgesetzt”, heißt es von der aws. Helfen soll Antragstellenden dabei auch der “aws KI-Marktplatz”, wo unter anderem potenzielle Kooperations- und Umsetzungspartner:innen zu finden sind.
“AI-Adoption”: Bis zu 150.000 Euro für Vorbereitung auf AI-Act, Standardisierung und Zertifizierung
Bei “AI-Adoption” werden von der aws “innovative und vertrauenswürdige” AI-Vorhaben unterstützt. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt dabei in der Vorbereitung auf den EU AI-Act, Standards, Normen und Zertifizierungen im Bereich der Künstlichen Intelligenz. Hier stehen pro Unternehmen bis zu 150.000 Euro zur Verfügung.
“AI-Adoption: Green”: Bis zu 150.000 Euro für KI-Produkte mit Beitrag zu Green Deal
Mit der Förderschiene “AI-Adoption: Green” werden Unternehmen bei der Entwicklung von “innovativen Anwendungen vertrauenswürdiger KI zum Klimaschutz und zur Anpassung an den Klimawandel” unterstützt. Vorhaben müssen dazu einen “unmittelbaren und messbaren” Beitrag zu den acht Schwerpunkten des EU Green Deals beitragen. Auch hier stehen pro Unternehmen bis zu 150.000 Euro zur Verfügung.

Ehrlich-Sommer explains how the program helped his team sharpen their vision and gain new perspectives: “Interacting with founders from different industries and countries gave us fresh perspectives and helped refine our business model. As engineers, we tend to communicate in technical language. Through the program, we learned to present our idea clearly and understandably.”

The startup’s solutions are particularly relevant to the pharmaceutical and fine chemicals industries. One of the most significant benefits of the aws First Incubator’s special international call is the interdisciplinary and international exchange.
